Scars to your beautiful x

img_6802

So the first time I had heard this amazing song I honestly just sat and CRIED so much because every line in the song is so true for so many women in the world and we totally need to just go crazy and believe in ourselves…

This is the beginning of the song and it just hits you.

She just wants to be beautiful

She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits

She craves attention, she praises an image

She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor

Oh, she don’t see the light that’s shining

Deeper than the eyes can find it

Maybe we have made her blind

So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away

‘Cause cover girls don’t cry after their face is made

img_6800

Oh, you’re beautiful, oh, you’re beautiful
And there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark

You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are

And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart

No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

Oh-oh, oh-oh

And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart

No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

When I decided to do this post, I honestly just kept overthinking, what are people gonna say, I have way to little clothes on, my body image shouldn’t be in pictures like this, why would I even think of doing this! And I realized it wasn’t actually people, it was me!! Me, myself and I are the worst crit to self image! I put myself down on a daily bases and then social media just adds to it! Looking for attention or should I say confirmation to be “beautiful” but when someone compliments me, I never truly believing the person or take it in!

I told the Photographer, listen I know this is something you will probably be shocked to here me say but this is why I wanna do for this shoot!

We did a few images and I stood there in disbelief, looking at myself and actually thinking “wow Tiff you really are beautiful and your curves look great!” Still trying to look for the flaws of course!

And I wanted to write this post to make women understand that we as females need to be our biggest supporters! We need to be the ones telling ourselves we beautiful, giving off confidence, shining even when we feel dull, making a statement wherever we go, putting ourselves out there as if we are a Model because we can be!! We are all beautiful in our own way…

So with that being said make this song your anthem!!

Lately I have been falling in love with make-up again!! Not really wearing it all the time but more being a make-up artist and not letting my 2 years of studies go to waste.

IMG_1933

I think I lost my passion for make-up when I started wearing it so much and it started to define who I was. I never wanted to leave the house without my face on and it made me feel super insecure if I had almost nothing on (mascara and blush). I would cake (cover every spot with way too much make-up) my face and feel like I had come alive. I didn’t want that to define who I was or how I felt about myself anymore. As the picture says the way I saw my life, shaped my life. I never felt beautiful. I took a break from it just to find myself and just to feel like God made me beautiful with or without make-up. I still did matric balls/proms and functions that friends or family had asked me to do but I never really put myself on the market for a long time. I had spent time in front of the mirror, put up messages that would say, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, “You are beautiful”, “God does not make mistakes”, “No amount of make-up can make you more beautiful than you already are”, “Live for yourself and no one else” and “You got this”. After doing this for about a year I began to feel way more confident about myself and said “Okay Tiff you are a Lion and you will be brave in everything you do, no matter what anyone says.”

After being involved with Colour Conference 2015 hosted by Hillsong church. It truly awakened my passion for make-up and just being so excited with the outcome. I found myself being proud and overwhelmed with what I did on these amazing people. Seeing the singers and actors on stage, having the make-up on that I had done, really made me ask myself why I had stopped doing this. Why, why and why again.

I have recently done some make-up for more matric balls/proms and will start to do lots more make-up posts. I won’t stop adding my fashion and lifestyle posts but I feel like I should share my skills with you all in easy step by step guides. I really hope you would enjoy that :X

Have you questioned yourself about getting a tattoo, what you would get, where it should be, what would it say, should I really get one, will I regret it? I have been asking myself these questions for a couple of years now. Many of my friends have tattoos and I think it’s so awesome but some I really don’t understand, yes it’s not for me to understand and don’t get me wrong I respect that, I just really don’t know what I would really get and not regret.

IMG_9722 IMG_9729tumblr_menaw3yDys1qdvqgzo1_500 IMG_9724

These are some things that I have learnt – my hard thinking moments “to be Inked or not to be Inked”

The history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as diverse as the people who wear them. Tattoos are created by inserting colored materials beneath the skin’s surface. The first tattoos probably were created by accident. Someone had a small wound, and rubbed it with a hand that was dirty with soot and ashes from the fire. Once the wound had healed, they saw that a mark stayed permanently. Despite the social sciences’ growing fascination with tattooing, and the immense popularity of tattoos themselves, the practice has not left much of a historical record.

If you’re surrounded by friends or family members who have tattoos, you are more likely to think getting tattoos are no big deal. But researchers also found that the more tattoos a person had the more they felt on the receiving end of stigmatization. And the more disapproval a tattooed person feels, the more likely they are to have them removed. When someone gets a tattoo, they feel the need to inspire it with meaning, and can become quite anxiety over their tattoo narratives if they feel to little. When people get a tattoo simply for the sake of wanting one, they are more likely to regret it later. Not everyone needs a reason to get a tattoo, but behavioral research shows us that in general, people expect there to be a meaning or purpose for it—and that’s a meaning you can expect to be asked about by anyone. Just a few things to keep in mind before you get a tattoo or decided to apply ink to your body.

I do feel that a tattoo can be anything you want it to be but don’t get something you might regret later, you can always cover a tattoo up though. I really think that a tattoo is a lifetime commitment because it is on your body for the rest of your life, unless you remove it. I have put things I want as tattoo on a sticky note or book I am always using and if I get sick of looking at it I pull it out, since I have done this, only 2 have lasted and maybe those would be the ones I will get. The reason why I don’t have a tattoo yet he he, my parents will totally kick me out the house. They really don’t like it at all. I understand where they are coming from at times but I would also like to make decisions for myself, I had gotten my ears pieced and they didn’t like it but seemed to get over it. I however respect them and will wait until I am married and out of the house before I to get a tattoo.

1. If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, there is one very important thing you have to keep in mind — getting it done safely.
2. Think of a design you want to get.
3. Make a rough sketch of your design.
4. Find the location on your body that you want to put it
5. Touch up your design
6. Find an artist you trust.
7. Pick a few and check them out.
8. If the studio looks unclean, if anything looks out of the ordinary, or if you feel in any way uncomfortable, find a better place to get your tattoo.
9. Have a bit of knowledge of the overview.
10. Choose the artist whose work you like best and tell him or her you want a tattoo.
11. Negotiate your price.
12. Pay attention to the location where you will be tattooed.
13. When you get there, go over the new and improved picture, and make sure it’s OK.
14. Relax.
15. Take a final look when it’s finished.
16. Take care of your tattoo as instructed.
17. Even after it’s fully healed, a tattoo is more susceptible to the sun’s rays, so it’s a good idea to always keep it protected from direct sunlight.

What tattoos I would get and what they mean to me?
– I really want to have a cross tattooed on my hand because it something I always use and when I see it, it will remind me that God is always there and that I am never alone.
– A lion, I have wanted one for 2 years now but really don’t know where on my body?? Maybe my ribs or shoulder-blade, who knows if I will really get it.
– 22 in Roman Numerals on my collar-bone or shoulder. It means light in the Bible and I want to be the light to everyone around me.
– An anchor on my wedding finger when I get married to my alien, can’t wait for that day.
–  A heart out line on my wrist or behind my ear.

To conclude, I think that tattoo’s are an awesome idea and I can’t wait to walk into a tattoo parlour one day and get one myself. Basically getting a tattoo or choosing not to all comes down to personal preference. I’d love to hear what your views are about tattoo’s. If you were to get a tattoo what would you get??

make me up

IMG_9899

My Sister was asked to go to a Matric Dance/Prom at Curro Private School in Durbanville, she said “YES”, it was her boyfriend. I had done her make up, hair and nails.

This was our Afternoon:

IMG_9805  IMG_9782 IMG_9783  IMG_9797 IMG_9805  IMG_9807

I had done her Make up plain but still with an edge. Smokey eye with brown and gold, dark eyebrows, bronze cheek with a touch of pink and nude lips with Baby lips lip care.

I applied her foundation over her face, down the neck and over her lips to keep it nude. The darker eye colour in the cress line of the eyelid, medium colour in the corner and brightest colour in the middle of the eye lid. Blend them all together and gave her a dark strip on the lash line to make her lashes look longer. Brows I applied black and gold eyeshadow to make it more defined. Her blush was bronzer and peach pink blush from Mac which worked well together with her fair skin colour. Her lips were nude and just added some moisture with her baby lips lip care .

I had then gone over her hair to keep it in and straight so that it would hold for the night. I added some Serum to keep it sleek and have a great shine. (please excuse my dad in the kitchen, he wanted to be apart of the pictures)

I then applied false nails over my sisters nails, I pushed her cuticles back and prepared her nails to allow the false nails to stick correctly. Once the nails were done I painted them with a nude nail colour from Rimmel.

lipstick 101.2

Have you ever just wanted to go crazy with lip colour but never sure on what to buy or wear?

image

First make sure you find the lip colour that you want and fall in love with. Tip: colours look different on all skin types

image12

Lip colour – Cranberry/Wine red

When choosing a lipstick always make sure you have a lip pencil close to your lip colour as possible, if you do not have one your lipstick over time will cause bleeding/feathering. You know when you use a permanent marker on your skin and its starts to seep into your skin, the same happens with lipstick and that’s why lip pencil is a key item when using lipstick.

Bleeding/Feathering

Apply your lip pencil and make sure to get your lips correctly even if you need to pull a few faces when you put it on.

Lip pencil

Apply lipstick carefully on lips and over the lip pencil.

Remove lipstick from outside your lips with a cotton bud

Bolting is very important to have longer lasting lip colour. Use a tissue, separate the tissue using one ply over the lips and powder lips with your base powder. Do this a few times until happy with the colour, I do it about 4 times and it last for +_8hours.

Final thing to do pull your finger through your mouth removing excess lipstick in the centre which avoids lipstick going onto your teeth.

Always remember that with a bold lip the rest of your make up on your face should be simple but people are different and if you like to be bold all over do it. I’d love to see the looks you all come up with.

These are the lipsticks I used, they are my ultimate favourite.
